Tolls in North Macedonia – information on tolls, toll roads map

Tolls are payable on the A1 and A2 motorways from the capital Skopje to the more remote parts of the country. The A1 motorway runs around the capital, Skopje, south of the north of the country, while the A2 motorway runs west of Skopje. Tolls can be paid at toll gates, in cash or by credit card. For the purpose of determining the toll price, vehicle categories are determined by the number of axles and the height of the vehicle above the front axle, which is limited to 1.3 metres. Passenger cars are in the lowest price category, while there are no toll categories or toll prices for motorcycles.

Tolls may be waived for certain types of disabled persons, vehicles under police escort, certain state administration vehicles, Red Cross vehicles, fire-fighters, funeral vehicles and certain other persons listed in the regulations. The exact wording of the rules and the address for submitting an application for approval can be found on the roads.org.mk website.
