Toll Turkey – information on tolls, toll roads map

Toll roads include most of the motorways, bridges and tunnels leading from the western borders to the capital Ankara and southeast. Motorway tolls are paid using an electronic system that detects the passage through toll gates. To pay the toll and pass through the tollgate successfully, the car must be equipped with an HGS tag or OGS on-board unit. The obligation to pay tolls via an HGS tag or OGS unit applies to all categories of vehicles, from motorcycles to vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.

In addition to motorcycles, two categories have been created for two-axle vehicles, varying according to the distance between the front and rear axles, with a limit of 3.2 m. For vehicles with more than two axles, the price category is determined by the number of axles. The drawing divided into categories is available at hgsmusteri.ptt.gov.tr.

HGS (Fast Passing System) – label in the form of a sticker or card

The HGS label, in sticker or card form, can be purchased at petrol stations, PTT Turkish Post branches (enyakinptt.ptt.gov.tr), some mobile operators and some bank branches. Automatic payment through PTT account or in cooperation with one of the contracted banks.

If you pass through the toll gates without paying, you will have to pay a surcharge within 15 days. If you do not pay within 15 days, the surcharge may be several times the toll price. In case of problems paying with the HGS tag, branch management and contact details can be found at hgsmusteri.ptt.gov.tr.
