Motorway tolls United Kingdom – information on tolls, toll bridges list

Tolls are only collected on the 35 km section of the M6 motorway near Birgmingham and on certain bridges and tunnels. Tolls can be paid by debit card or fuel card at busy locations, but only coins are accepted on smaller bridges.

Tolls on the Dartford Crossing, Mersey Gateway and Mersey Silver Jubilee bridges are collected via a free-flow toll system without toll gates, and can be paid via a mobile app, the internet, by phone or Payzone account. A congestion charge is payable when entering central London and Durham. For travel from mainland Europe to the British Isles, you can use Eurotunnel or a ferry.

Toll operators in Great Britain are not uniform, so the breakdown of categories may vary from place to place, particularly for trailers, vans and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. Motorcycles may be free of charge in some places.

The possibility of obtaining exemption from tolls varies according to the toll section. Some people with physical disabilities and war veterans may be able to obtain exemptions for certain toll sections. For residents living near certain segments, toll discounts are available. Detailed information is available on the site’s presentation pages.

Failure to pay may result in a fine. Information on payment options can be found under the links on the map.
